This memorial website was created in the memory of our loved one, William Tyler Strawn, who was born in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma on April 16, 1987, and passed away on October 07, 2007, at the age of 20. Tyler was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John W. Peoples, Jr. He is survived by his father, David Strawn; mother, Elane Strawn; brother, David Strawn, II; sister, Megan Strawn; maternal grandmother, Katherene Peoples; paternal grandmother, Sophia Strawn; uncle, Robert Terrell, Jr; aunt, Katherene Terrell; uncle, John Peoples, III; stepfather, Joseph Anzelmo; stepmother, Cindy Strawn; cousin, Robert Terrell, III; cousin, Jonathon Terrell; and many extended family members and close friends.
Tyler and his girlfriend of four years, Elyse Cannon, were taken from us in a tragic incident. They ran out of gas on a highway and were both struck by a passing motorist as they were attempting to get help. Tyler and Elyse died at the scene. Tyler and Elyse loved each other deeply and were together in death as in life. We know that they are both with God and those that have passed before them. We can be sure that they are taking care of each other. We look forward to the day that we will be reunited with them. There is no possible way to convey how much we all miss Tyler and Elyse. Our love as always is with you, Tyler and Elyse.
Tyler was a beautiful soul. He had no harsh words to say about anyone. He was kind and gentle, and he always had a beautiful smile on his face. He went out of his way to speak to people and let them know how important they were. Handsome and witty, he always made people laugh. A true joy to be around. He excelled in baseball and basketball, but he was a champion in the sport of billiards. Tyler was a two time 9-ball National Champion in 14 & Under Division, two time Runner-Up in the 18 & Under Division, four time National Champion in Artistic Pool, and placed 8th in Japan in the World Championship and 3rd in Taiwan in the World Championship. He was a true champion and gentleman in his play. The pool world will miss him.
Tyler and Elyse were taken from us much too quickly. We must trust in God to make it through the grief and know that we will be with them in the blink of an eye.
